Revive · Privacy policy

How Revive handles information.

This policy explains how QuantumPlug Technologies LLP handles information in the Revive — File Recovery app for Mac (app ID com.quantumplug.revive).

1. Summary

Revive finds and recovers files on your Mac. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no crash reporting, and it does not connect to the internet. Everything it reads and writes stays on your Mac. We do not sell your data and we never receive it.

2. Who we are

Revive is made by QuantumPlug Technologies LLP, India ("we", "us"). Contact and Grievance Officer: apps@quantumplugtech.com.

3. Files you choose

Revive reads only the drives, folders and disk images you choose, and only to find files you can recover. It opens them read-only and never changes them. Recovered files are written only to the folder you choose.

To show a preview of a deleted file before you recover it, Revive makes a temporary copy in its own private storage. Previews are deleted when you start a new scan or quit the app.

4. Stored on your Mac

Revive keeps your settings, a bookmark so it can reopen the last source you chose, and a local activity log of scans and recoveries, including file paths, to help with troubleshooting. None of this leaves your Mac. Clear the log at any time in Revive › Settings › Privacy.

5. No network access

Revive makes no network connections. It contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting code and no third-party SDKs, and we do not run a server for it.

6. Permissions

• Files and folders: macOS gives Revive access only to the items you choose in an Open dialog or drag onto the window.

• Notifications (optional): to tell you when a scan or recovery finishes. They are shown by your Mac and sent nowhere.

• Administrator approval (direct-download edition only): to scan a drive sector by sector, Revive asks macOS to open that drive read-only. You type your password into the macOS dialog; Revive never sees or stores it.

Revive does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or any tracking.

7. Children

Revive is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.

8. Your rights

Because we do not receive or store any data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU, EEA or UK, or India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act), you may complain to a data protection authority: in India the Data Protection Board of India, in the EU, EEA or UK your local authority. For any question, email apps@quantumplugtech.com and we will reply within 30 days.

9. How to delete your data

• Clear the activity log in Revive › Settings › Privacy.

• Delete Revive from your Applications folder to remove the app. Its settings and log are in ~/Library/Containers/com.quantumplug.revive, which you can also delete.

• Files you recovered stay in the folder you chose; delete them there.

10. Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on quantumplugtech.com with a new "Last updated" date and shipped in the app.
